, join artists and business and civic leaders for a conversation about the integral role of the arts in Kansas City’s continuing revitalization, and learn how the impact is already expanding to the suburbs. Mingle and explore three levels of galleries featuring the work of local and international artists while enjoying a “Taste of OP,” with delicious food and wine provided by area restaurants and vendors.
Get a first-hand look at plans for InterUrban ArtHouse
(rendering pictured right), a nonprofit “arts hub” in Johnson County
that will offer affordable space for artists and arts groups, as well as exhibitions, events, education, and professional development. The National Endowment for the Arts recently awarded InterUrban ArtHouse a major grant as a national pilot program in its “creative placemaking” initiative, calling it a prime example of a project that “will improve quality of life, encourage creative activity, create community identity and a sense of place, and help revitalize local economies.”
