The Vaad has been successful in achieving two primary goals that were set forth in its ‘revitalization’ mandate of 2010, promoting Kashrut (Jewish dietary laws) and making kosher products and services more accessible to Kansas City Jewish community.  The Vaad has realized a 30% increase in commercial accounts over the past 3 years.

One tool that has been a crucial in bringing the Vaad and Kashrut into the public eye is The Kansas City Vaad Kosher BBQ Festival, introduced to the community in 2012. The event provides a popular social outlet for all ages and affiliations within the local Jewish community; attracts participants and attention on a national level; and raises the level of awareness of Kashrut both inside and outside the Jewish community.
