Pearl Society

The Pearl Society was started by three young Jewish women from Hartford, CT seeking to find ways to engage young women in Jewish philanthropy and the basic teaching that all Jews are responsible for on another and the world in which they live. Since then, this program has taken off nationally and we are proud to say you can join here in Kansas City.

As a member of the Pearl Society your philanthropic dollars make a difference locally, in Israel, and in 60 countries around the world, all for a $180 (or above) gift in your own name to the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City.

Did we mention you get a beautiful necklace when you join the Pearl Society? The Pearl Society has a distinguished and unique look with a custom-designed silver hamsa pendant. On the front: a silver hamsa with a fresh water pearl set in metal. On the back: The Hebrew letter pey representing the Hebrew word for p’nina meaning pearl.

As a woman’s gift continues and grows, her commitment can be distinguished with the addition of colored pearl charms (blush, black, and gold) to her necklace.

Ben Gurion Society

The Ben Gurion Society (BGS) is a national recognition group for individuals or couples ages 25 to 45 who make an annual gift of $1,000 to the Community Campaign.  With a focus towards leadership development, Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City celebrates young philanthropists who are able to make a difference early-on.  Special events and incentives are offered throughout the year to members of BGS.  A “step up” program is available for individuals and couples who strive to give at Ben Gurion Society level over time.

The group is named in honor of David Ben Gurion, the first president of Israel, who had a uniting impact on the then struggling young nation.
